Check out Movemint!
Bell Lap Athlete Zack Isaacs has some exciting news to share about a project he’s launching called Movemint.
Dear Bell Lap Community,
This past weekend marked the launch of Movemint, a new platform that enables athletes to mint and sell their athletic achievements. Movemint launched in partnership with several professional runners and cyclists, including Ted King, Amity Rockwell, Chas Christiansen, Hillary Allen, and more.
To use Movemint, athletes connect their Strava or RideWithGPS, choose which rides or runs they want to mint, and Movemint takes care of the rest. Movemint’s feed broadcasts hot auctions. When an Achievement sells, the owner is listed next to the Achievement on Movemint as its owner.
Achievements are NFTs, but athletes don’t need any prior experience with crypto to mint and sell Achievements. Movemint creates a wallet for each athlete and deposits the proceeds from their sales into that wallet.
When you buy an Achievement on Movemint, you’re buying it from and in direct support of the athlete. So if you buy Amity Rockwell’s Traka win, you’re buying it from Amity. 70% of the initial sale goes directly to the athlete to fuel their next adventure. Movemint believes this direct-sponsorship model will enable athletes to pursue their sports more sustainably, and that it can make sport more inclusive.
Keep an eye out for some incredible Achievements this summer! And if anyone in the Bell Lap family has feedback or wants to mint Achievements, please email me at zack@movemint.cc and I’ll set you up.
Best,
Zack
