Working with Steve is great. He is a master at balancing 'real world' responsibilities with both the mental and physical demands of racing. He's taken everything I've thrown at him, every curve ball, and incorporated it in a way that has made me better. This is my 9th season of racing, and after working with Steve for 2 years now, I am racing faster and riding stronger than I ever have!

Making my World Cup debut in 2008, I had little anxiety about my fitness due to my confidence in and great communication with Bell Lap Coaching. Steve Weller has worked with me to figure out the most effective manner of training, while balancing recovery and mental health with a workload on the bike that continues to be manageable with whatever extra-athletic pursuits I’m taking on.
From Steve’s availability, even while in different time zones, to always knowing why I’m benefiting from certain workouts, I am always impressed with his level of professionalism and attention to detail. I look forward to continuing a successful cycling career with Bell Lap Coaching.

It is really challenging for me to describe how much I appreciate having Steve as my coach. I truly believe that if it hadn't been for Steve, I wouldn't have seen the success I have on the bike. Steve took me from a weekend warrior to an elite racer. When I called Steve and told him I wanted to race on the road in Belgium for a summer, he didn't hesitate. He worked out a solid plan that got me to a point where I could race in the European peloton. When I told Steve that I wanted to race cyclo-cross in Belgium, he did it again. He put together a plan of training and racing that gave me the skills and confidence to race with a truly elite field of women. Last year when I told Steve I wanted to race at the Cyclo-Cross World Championships, he responded the same way. All this to say that without Steve's knowledge, support, and experience, I definitely wouldn't be the bike racer I am today and would not even dream of setting such high goals for myself.

Seeking a faster way to deliver newspapers around the neighborhood, I first discovered the joys of riding a bicycle a little over a decade ago. In the time since then, I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to live out my childhood dream as a professional cyclist. I have travelled all across the continent, not only competing in most of the biggest races North America has to offer, but also with many of the champions of our sport that I looked up to when I first began my journey years ago.
Throughout that drive to reach my potential as a cyclist, I've had the chance to work with numerous coaches, from the local master who has been competing longer than I've been alive, to the big-name corporation coach, as well as the long-time professional racer. Whether due to lack of knowledge, experience, understanding, or more significantly a real personal interest in the success of their client, each one of these relationships lacked an integral component to the realization of my true athletic ability.
After working with Steve through an exceptionally difficult season, I can honestly say without exaggeration that none of these past experiences comes even close to comparing to that which I have had working with him. Unlike many coaches who simply follow traditional wisdom or just go along with whatever happens to be popular at the moment, Steve has a genuine passion for staying on top of the latest academic theory regarding training, recovery, nutrition, and all of the many other little factors that add up and contribute significantly to an athlete's success. There have been more occasions than I can even remember where Steve has gone far beyond what I would have ever expected from a coach in order to help me discover the root cause of a difficult injury, develop a comprehensive recovery program, and implement an optimal course of action to have me back in competition as soon and as prepared as possible. Without Steve's persistent support I would have doubtlessly given up and thrown in the towel, and it is because of that sincere investment in my success that I am immeasurably grateful.
